With all TV screens tuned to Qatar’s FIFA world cup, Arrupe Jesuit University students had their share of fun and flair in showcasing their soccer talent by entering the #DStvMaUpsChallenge. Organised by DStv Zimbabwe, the event was meant to raise awareness about DStv coverage of the games. For AJU, through AJU Students’ Association (AJUSA), this was an opportune chance for Arrupe to be known out there. Plus, it was fun. The session was anchored by Zimbabwe’s well-known comedian Bhutisi.
Ma-ups is juggling the football in a creative way without the ball touching the ground. The challenge entailed posting a video while doing ma-ups on social media. First year ICT student Peter Nohuje aka Ptaldo won a DStv decoder and cap by doing more than 100 ups. Byron Hondo aka Haaland, with his mad skills and ball tricks, got the second prize of variety of accessories. Other creative Acts discovered on Campus that day includes Mr. Tomas Modesto juggling a tennis ball, the taekwondo club members juggling the ball while in their training gear, and the fun of it all was the religious brothers showing their skills in their clericals and cassocks. It was a prize galore challenge and everyone left with something.
