Can We Ever Reach There?
The Motto of our University is “Ever to Love and to Serve”. It is a call that challenges us never to tire of doing good not does it limit the extent to which each individual can exert personal capacity. Arrupe is committed to providing contextualized and appropriate education, being prophetic, reading the signs of the times, and responding to the needs of our era. Our programs are always to be reviewed, teaching and learning processes enhanced so that undertaking an education task does not become burdensome both to the lecturers and the learners. We try to respond to the needs in our society so that our programs are contextualized, relevant and credible. The students who go through such a program always have their ears open to the challenges that are faced in their society, constantly futuristic, and they strive to provide appropriate solutions.
Arrupe also operates in an environment of cura personalis, that is care for the person where each individual is taken at his or her own pace while at the same time, not allowing any student to lag behind their program. It is an approach that recognizes the uniqueness of every student. It ensures that each student is pushed to his/her limit of least competence. Such situations do not entertain satisfaction with the bare minimum. Even with COVID 19, Arrupe never lost academic time. It is therefore a back and forth process that eliminates missteps and enhanced personal progress. In this whole undertaking, we value accountability, innovation and community service. Each individual is expected to realize their own potential, each time trying to do better. Come and join us so that we march together. There is nothing in our world that cannot be solved through each individual exerting himself/herself to the maximum capacity.
